Along the N346 in the Eastern Netherlands, twenty iconic solar trees have been installed. A unique interplay of infrastructure, landscape design, and sustainable energy.
Commissioned by the installer, Hermans Technisolar supplied the high-quality semi-transparent solar panels for this project.
Each solar tree installation is equipped with a bespoke PowerGlaz solar panel, which not only generates electricity but also makes a visual statement.
This combination of design and technology aligns seamlessly with our vision of functional sustainability.
For this project, we developed and delivered 20 specially tailored PowerGlaz solar panels, each measuring 2100 x 2100 mm. These panels form the ‘canopy’ of the wooden solar trees. Thanks to their semi-transparent design, they allow natural light to pass through while simultaneously generating solar energy.
The custom panels were designed to meet both the aesthetic and technical requirements of this landscape feature — a striking example of solar energy as a design component.
The total capacity of the installation is 9,080 Wp.
- Twenty solar trees with integrated solar energy
- Total output of 9,080 Wp in sustainable capacity
- PowerGlaz solar panels as a visible feature of the landscape design
- Aesthetic and functional contribution to sustainable infrastructure
With this application, we demonstrate how solar design can be perfectly integrated into public spaces. Innovative, visible, and forward-looking.
Hermans Technisolar is happy to collaborate from concept through to realisation.
