An unpromising commercial building has been transformed over the past 2 years into the new headquarters of Mercedes-Benz Netherlands. We were asked to provide a renewable energy solution to enhance the buildings sustainability.
PowerGlaz Solar cells have been integrated into the atrium canopy and healthy materials have been used throughout the building. The total installed capacity is 44,820 Wp, distributed over 120 active PowerGlaz solar panels. The expected annual yield is about 40,330 kWh under ideal conditions.
As a result, the building breathes and all users, everywhere in the building, can enjoy an abundance of daylight. New sight-lines have been created, connecting employees and promoting internal communication resulting in a light, bright and green building with pleasant acoustics and healthy air.
