Sustainability was the top priority when designing the noise barrier for the exit at the N451. This includes the addition of semi-transparent solar panels across the entire length of the noise barrier.
Hermans Technisolar has supplied 99 Powerglaz panels for this project. The panels ensure that the noise barrier also has another function that isn’t just dampening sound but also generating energy.
Bifacial cells were partly chosen for this application, allowing more energy to be generated.
The use of the 99 Powerglaz panels in the noise barrier has resulted in a total installed power of approximately 43,000 Wp.
