Almere Station has undergone a true metamorphosis. The hall has been refurbished with a new ceiling, transparent elevators and new stores. There is a wide and clear passage through the hall between the Stationsplein and Mandelaplein. This gives the station an open appearance and brings the station to the city and the city to the station. The building also has many sustainability aspects including our integrated solar panels.
Hermans Technisolar supplied 552 Powerglaz solar panels for the sloping roof sections.
A unique detail is that in the glass panels ‘half cut cells’ are integrated, this was a wish of the client. The total capacity of the integrated solar panels is 90 kWp.
A modern station, using this type of solar cells for the first time in the Netherlands!
